Beautiful dreams as you drift off to dreamland in your dreamy dreaming space. What could be better?
For your bedroom, not much. To achieve this sleeping sanctuary, try any of these five simple bedroom design tips.
5 Dreamy Bedroom Design Tips
A different approach in this room is totally called for. Here are some design tips to think about trying.
1. Don’t Neglect the Ceiling
Your bedroom probably doesn’t get much traffic. It’s your private place away from the bustle of the rest of the house. This gives you license to get creative and try something a bit different with the design.
For example, the ceiling. Most people ignore this room feature entirely, but that’s a missed opportunity. In your bedroom, taking your ceiling into account for the overall design can have a beautiful effect.
To dip your toe into the water, try painting the ceiling a soft shade. For the dreamiest effect, try mimicking the sky. You can also add natural wood panels for a rustic effect, ceiling beams, or even copper tiles, which get you one step closer to your dream of living in a 19th-century romance novel.
2. Going Neutral? Use Lots of Texture
If you go for all neutral, soothing colors in your bedroom, it can easily get boring or cold. To combat this, choose a variety of textures.
For instance, put down a fluffy faux-fur rug, add linen bedding, one or two knit wool blankets, velvet pillows, crisp sheets, and gauzy curtains, all in shades of cream or gray.
3. Don’t Skimp on Bedding
To that end, for the dreamiest bed possible, one that makes you sad you woke up and got up, don’t skimp on bedding. Go for it with blankets, pillows, and throws. Make it as cozy as possible so you can’t help but gaze at it longingly as you finish getting ready for the day and head out the door.
4. Get a Headboard That Crowns the Room
Your bedroom is your bedroom. The bed should be the focal point, the shining star. If you don’t have a headboard, what are you waiting for? This is the proverbial crown that sets off your resting place.
5. Symmetry Calms the Vibe
For calmer vibes in your bedroom, focus on creating symmetry. For example, match up your lamps and nightstands on either side of the bed. If you hang a large painting above your headboard, mirror it on the opposite wall with another large decorative piece.
Let Your Bedroom Be Your Oasis
Could you get a better night’s rest if your bedroom was an oasis of calm and beauty? Maybe, maybe not.
Whatever the outcome, you’ll at least love waking up every morning and gazing upon your sleeping domain. That’s a win in anybody’s book.
