The weather is warming up and summer is right around the corner. If you haven’t started your spring cleaning the time is now!

 

 

First things first, you might need a trip to the local hardware store to pick up some cleaning supplies including brushes, a hose, rake, broom, and some good old-fashioned white vinegar.

 

1. Clean Things Up! Bring out the broom and sweep up the front walkways, patio, deck, and any other areas. Wash off the front door, windows, and garage doors. Power wash siding but be careful if it’s wood or you can do more harm than good.
2. Get the outdoors ready by bringing out the outdoor furniture and giving a wipe-down or soft scrub (depending on the material). Make sure that the grill is ready to fire up by checking the gas/propane and brushing it off. Don’t forget to turn on the water and see if your hose is still in good shape!
3. Clean up the garden area by removing debris, dead leaves, and any plants that didn’t make it through the winter. Get those planters up and ready with some fresh soil and plants. Check-in on the mulch situation and see if you’ll need to lay some down this year.
4. Clean out the garage! Get rid of unused or broken items. Dust off those cobwebs and check your storage solutions. Maybe you could use another shelf or a few more hooks.

These are just a few things to get you started. If you don’t have a handy bone in your body you may want to have someone come by to check for loose stones in walkways, rotted wood, foundation cracks, and any cracked caulking around windows and doors.
